SmartShopper was started in 2013 by our founders as a social project at own expense. As it gained popularity over time, the founding members then incorporated Blue Tangents Sdn Bhd in 2015 to better manage the App and enhance its usefulness.
Yes it's free and No we do not "sell" your personal information away if that's what you're thinking. We've been running the App at our own expense for a long time as we recognise the social benefits it's been bringing to the Malaysian shoppers. Any supermarkets & pharmacy chains that are available nationwide in Pen Malaysia, you can expect to find their advertised promotion prices for the products we track here. We are now focusing on expanding to cover regionally-based retailers (in North, Central, South, East Cost) to list their promotion prices for free so that our users can compare even smarter. We publish promotion prices that are advertised and listed by retailers through official channels (direct cooperation supply, newspapers, brochures, official website etc.).
Within 24 hours of the promotion's start date. Short period promotions (e.g. 2-day weekend deals) are prioritised to be uploaded to the App before 12pm of the promotion start date.
As our published price information are sourced from official channels, they are expected to be sold maximum at the published promotion price in the retailers' outlets unless stated otherwise in the remarks.
Alert us immediately at info@smartshopper.my stating the product, retailer outlet and date of visit. We have dedicated personels on standby to investigate and advise soonest possible on the validity of the price for your action. There are "Human Factors' involved after all in transcribing the information into the app at such speed and volume. Inaccuracies in any case are regretted and made honestly, we take immediate corrective measures upon investigating.
There is simply too much information available and not all are useful to everyone, we'd like to help you cut out the useless annoying ones. Your profile helps you get relevant information and promotions only, minimising information that brings no value to you. For instance: Ladies get prioritised to receive information on female beauty products, Users with children on baby products, Malays on Ramadhan/Hari Raya celebration products etc.
